LDS ISLANDWIDE COURIER – TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF CARRIAGE

1. Maximum Size & Weight

1.1 Documents by bike service
Max size : 45cm x 25cm x 5cm
Max Weight: 3 kg

1.2 Parcel by bike service
Max size : 45cm x 25cm x 15cm
Max weight: 7kg

1.3 Parcel by van service
Max size: 45cm x 30cm x 30cm
Max weight: 20kg per box subject to a maximum of 2 boxes
Every additional box will be charged @ $3

2. Waiting Time Surcharge

The waiting time for either location for collection or delivery should not exceed 5 mins. An additional $4.00 will be charged for subsequent block of 10mins.

3. Cancellation of Job Assignment

The following charges will apply for cancellation of job assignment:-

3.1 For assignment that is cancelled before arrival at the place of collection – no charge
3.2 For assignment that is cancelled upon arrival at the place of collection – 50% of the courier charge
3.3 For assignment that is cancelled after collection - 100% of the courier charge

4. Compensation

Payment of compensation is limited to a maximum amount of SGD80.00 per consignment note or the declared value of the package whichever is lower on condition that LDS is satisfied that the claim for any loss is justified.

5. Claims Procedures

All claims for loss must be made in writing within 14 days from the date LDS accepts the job, failing which LDS shall have no liability whatsoever. All claims must be accompanied by the consignment note and other supporting document that can substantiate the value of the lost item, failing which the claim will be considered null and void.

6. High Security Surcharge

An additional $5 (bike service) and $10 (van service) will be charged for delivery/ collection to/from high security areas as listed below:-

• Jurong Island
• Changi Cargo Area
• Changi & Seletar Airport
• New Phoenix Park
• PSA
• The Embassy of USA
• All Mindef Facilities

7. Sender’s Responsibilities

7.1 Sender must complete the name, address and telephone number of the sender and receiver in a legible manner. If the receiving party is a company, the name of the company, department/section must be provided to ensure accurate and prompt delivery.

7.2 Sender must state clearly any special instructions in the “Important Remarks” column on the consignment note.

8 Unacceptable Packages

Packages that hold contents that are prohibited by law will not be accepted for delivery such as flammable packages, poisons, radioactive material, compressed gas, explosive, firearms and any others which may cause harm or injury to LDS delivery personnel or damage to other packages .

9. Governing Law

Any dispute arising under or in any way connected with these Terms and Conditions shall be subject to and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Singapore and the parties hereby submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Republic of Singapore.
